Boys Varsity and Reserves perform great in Bert Cebulski Memorial Run

The Bedford boys cross country team opened their season tonight at the Bert Cebulski Memorial Run at Adrian's Heritage Park. The Kicking Mules varsity placed 6th out of 12 teams, a race that was won handily by an impressive Coldwater squad. Leading the way for the Mules was junior standout Alex Zittleman, who finished 13th overall in a time of 18:10. Close behind was sophomore Noah Scheffer (26th in 18:45) and junior Michael Greeley (28th in 18:52). Rounding out the scoring for the varsity was Brendan Burns (19:12) and Steven Kraine (19:49).

In the reserve race, Bedford led all teams, scoring a near-perfect 17 points to pace the field. Sophomore Jake Reaume took first place in the race, posting a time of 19:13. He was followed closely by junior Bradey Huber (2nd in 19:24) and freshman Noah Bock (3rd in 19:29). Rounding out the scoring in the reserve race were sophomore Seth Murphy (19:44) and freshman Seth Oxer (20:06). The Mules race next at the Oakland University Invitational on September 2.
