This weekend, 9 Bedford Swimmers competed at the D2 State Meet. As a team, we finished a strong 10th place.

Individually, we had 3 All State performers, 8 personal bests, and 4 New School records.

Senior Noah Scheffer set team records in the 100 Butterfly (6th place), 100 Freestyle, and was part of the 400 Free Relay Record (4th Place). He also had a 3 second PR in the 200 Free, just missing the school record held by Logan Cavins by .04 seconds.

Sophomore Thomas Zoldowski was a part of the 400 Free Record as well. He also finished 10th in his 200 IM with a 1 second PR, and 6th in the 100 Backstroke with a 1 sec. PR.
Freshman, Micah Scheffer- Set a new 50 free record and finished 5th. He also finished 11th in the 100 freestyle and was part of the 400 Free Relay record.

Sophomore Ian Metter and  Freshman Ethan Tennant both had strong performances in their individual races, but were not finalist. Ian, however was the 4th member of the 400 Frelay Record.
The 200 Free Relay of  Gavin Guenther, Jeffery Pauli, Ross Thomas, and Ian Metter had a 2 second drop as a team.
The 200 Medley Relay of Zoldowski, Alex Sancrant, Noah Scheffer, and Micah Scheffer had a tough break in the Finals. They should have finished 7th, but were thought to have had a bad exchange and were disqualfied. Without the dq, the team would have finished 8th in the state, but instead held them to a solid 10th place.

This year, we only had two returning state qualifiers. Our team is very young. I am looking forward to what they can accomplish in the future.
