The Bedford Boys Cross Country team finished 18th out of 45 teams at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival in Tiffin, Ohio. The team was led by senior Brendan McClanahan, who finished 50th overall in a time of 16:39. Sophomore Michael Greeley finished second for the team in 16:49 (63rd overall), followed by Greg Lingle (97th), Alex Zittleman (154th), and Brendan Burns (158th).
The team also ran a varsity team in the Division 1 varsity B race, which features less competitive varsity teams but not JV teams. Bedford finished 15th out of 43 teams in that race. Junior Andrew Farren led the Mules in that race, finishing 57th in 17:52, followed closely by Noah Scheffer (62nd) in 17:55.
In the JV race, freshman Ethan Chevalier paced the Mules in 19:22. There were 14 lifetime PRs set by the Mules today, and 3 season bests.
"I challenged the team to race tough, to push themselves, and to stay focused at all points in the race. Many of the guys met that challenge. I'm proud of them, but not satisfied. I want them to be proud of their performance today, too, but not satisfied. We need to stay hungry to improve."
