The Bedford boys cross country team placed 5th in the Mel Brodt Invitational at Bowling Green State University today, finishing behind champion Perrysburg, Bowling Green, Riverside, and Sylvania Southview.
Sophomore Collin Balla crossed the line first for the Mules, finishing 12th out of 217 runners in 17:25. Sophomore Alex Ortiz finished 20th in 17:33, junior Aidan Burns was 35th in 18:00, sophomore Micah Scheffer was 36th in 18:04, and Noah Bock finished 43rd in 18:16.
Many runners also ran personal bests, including Caden Bodine (18:36), Preston Ulery (19:13), Anthony Kruszka (21:23), Spencer Lingle (21:45), Brendan Hayter (21:53), Grant Yeager (22:48), Carter Miller (23:03), Miles Przybylski (24:06), and Zachary Stevens (25:35).
The Kicking Mules will compete at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival on September 7.
