The Bedford boys cross country team faced off against the Whitmer Panthers in a dual meet on Saturday, August 29, at Indian Creek Park in Temperance.

The Kicking Mules outpaced Whitmer in the meet, scoring only 20 points to Whitmer's 39.

Whitmer's top runner crossed the line first in the race, running an impressive time of 17:13 on Bedford's home course, but it was all Bedford after that. Placing 2nd overall was junior Alex Ortiz (17:35), followed by junior Colin Balla (3rd in 17:53), senior Aidan Burns (4th in 18:04), and sophomore Josh Gagne (5th in 18:43). Rounding out the scoring for Bedford was junior Austin Spohler, who posted a huge personal best at 18:58, putting him solidly in 6th place.

Other impressive performances included Gabe Bock (19:55), Braiden Welch (22:24), Adrik Ruch (22:53), John Ball (25:32), and Grant Steffen (29:34).

Bedford will compete next at Whiteford Valley Golf Course on September 12.
