The Bedford Junior Varsity girls soccer squad notched its first win of the season with a 4-1 triumph over visiting Monroe Tuesday night at the Bedford Soccer Stadium.  The Trojans grabbed a 1-0 lead at the 17-minute mark, which proved to be the only goal of the first half.  The Kicking Mules knotted the game at 1-1 in the 43rd minute as Rachel Schott took a long throw-in by Sarah Fitzgerald and scored into the top corner Ashley Manore tallied the game-winning goal 12 minutes later as she also went top shelf off an assist from Taylor Lehmann.  Bedford scored twice in the final 10 minutes to seal the victory.  Lehmann scored off a rebound of Schott shot, while Kaitlin Pete re-directed a Manore cross to complete the scoring.  Kassidy Koepfler made two saves in goal for Bedford, while the Monroe goalkeeper stopped 11 shots.  A strong defensive effort on the back end was turned in by Bailey Mata, Casie Deiley and Alyssa Lopez as Bedford limited the Trojans to just three shots.  Lehmann, Manore and Schott each had seven shots for Bedford, while Sydney Lent added three shots.

Bedford will host Adrian at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
