The Bedford Girls Junior Varsity soccer squad also showed significant improvement since the last time they played Huron.  After falling 6-0 in Ann Arbor last month, the j.v. team only trailed 1-0 at halftime and were only out-shot 8-6 in the first 40 minutes.

The River Rats scored their second goal on a penalty kick in the 44th minute, and added a rebound goal in the 59th minute to make the final 3-0. 

Freshman goalkeeper Kassidy Koepfler turned aside 11 shots, while Huron goalie Erica Jackson made two saves as the Kicking Mules were out-shot 28-8.

Strong play on the back line was turned in by juniors Bailey Mata and Rebekka Daniel, sophomore Casie Deiley along with freshman Alyssa Lopez.

Midfielders contributing were junior Morgan Parker, sophomores Kassie Brandon and freshmen Sarah Fitzgerald and Mackenzie Helpman.

Junior Rachel Schott and sophomore Ashley Manore combined for five shots for Bedford.

The Kicking Mules will play a 5:30 p.m. contest at Skyline on Thursday.
