Dexter 4, Bedford 3

The Mules’ undefeated season came to a screeching halt as the host Dexter Dreadnaughts scored a come from behind 4-3 victory.  Bedford built a 2-0 lead, but Dexter scored four unanswered goals to seal the win.  A late goal gave the Mules some hope, but time expired before they could get the equalizer.

Josef Molnar scored the only first period goal, assisted by Jacob Schulty.  Just 45 seconds into the next period Jake Stark upped the Bedford lead, assisted by David Jeffers, while each team was skating a man down due to penalties.  In the last half of the period, the Dreadnaughts pulled even, and the score held at 2-2 until the last three minutes of the third period.

Dexter scored on a fast break to take their first lead of the night, then they snuck in an insurance goal a minute later out of a scramble.  Bedford pulled the goalkeeper and Stark planted his goal with 43 seconds remaining.  The Mules controlled play in the dying moments, but a clearing pass by Dexter was enough to kill the clock.

Jacob Smalley was strong in the goal for Bedford, turning back 41 of 45 shots during the game.  The Mules only managed 21 shots, including only two in the key second period.
