Awesome job to our Ladies Swim & Dive Team this past weekend at the SMISL relay meet. They brought home the trophy, 3rd year again.

The Kicking Mules traveled to Tecumseh to take on Adrian, Milan, Monroe and Tecumseh in the SMISL Relay meet on Friday and Saturday, led by senior captains Lauren Sullivan and Gretchen Metter. The Mules started the meet with diving on Friday with Senior Rachel Staley and Freshman Tristan Nieman finishing 3rd in the diving relay. On Saturday morning, the swimmers showed up determined to make a statement. The Mules were fighting Tecumseh head to head for the entire meet, finishing with a win after going into the final relay down 4 points to Tecumseh. The "B" under/over relay of senior Amy Cook, senior Rachel Staley, sophomore Audrey Turner and freshman Makayla Clise clinched the win for the Mules, outscoring Tecumseh's "B" relay in the same event and making the final score Bedford 460 and Tecumseh 446. Milan finished with 334 points, Adrian with 334 and Monroe with 200 points. Other notable finishes include Sullivan, sophomore Allison Steffin, junior Moe Lingle and freshman Kendal Schreder in the 200 medley relay who broke the Tecumseh pool record with a state-qualifying time of 1:51.62. The 300 medley relay of Schreder, Steffin and senior Nanna Sonne took first with a time of 3:15.68, and in the 300 breaststroke relay senior Laiya Scheffer, Steffin, Schreder and Sonne finished first with a time of 3:38.41. Finally, Lauren Sullivan led off the 700 freestyle relay with a state qualifying time in the 50 freestyle of 24.86.
