The Bedford Kicking Mules traveled to take on Ann Arbor Huron last night and came away with their first loss of the season with a score of 116-70 to the River Rats.
The Lady Mules had some great swims, starting the night off with a win in the 200 medley relay with senior Meegan Smith, freshman Kendal Schreder, senior Nanna Sonne and junior Allie Steffin. Junior Moe Lingle won the 200 freestyle with a MISCA qualifying time of 2:02.43. Sonne won the 100 butterfly in a time fo 1:06.13, out touching Huron's Laura Deng by .05 seconds. Lingle then swam a state-qualifying time of 5:22.20 in the 500 freestyle, winning the event by 23 seconds. Bedford's 200 freestyle relay team of Schreder, Steffin, junior Kayla Binder and Lingle took home a win as well. Smith took second in the 100 backstroke with her first MISCA-qualifying time of the season in 1:05.42. Schreder finished up the meet with a victory in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:12.49.
The Mules are back in action next week on Thursday against Lincoln at 6:00 p.m.
