First period woes sealed Bedford's fate in the opening game of the SMCC invitational tournament. Big Rapids avenged last year's upset and built a 4-1 lead by the break. The Mules scored the only other goal in the game. Tyler Lanz and Cole Mason had the Bedford goals.
