The JV Football team held on to preserve a tie against the previously unbeaten Hornets last Thursday.
The Mules jumped out to a 6-0 lead on a Luke Beadle to Ian Tyberski TD pass. Later in the half, Beadle hit Markus Bowen on a slant and go route for a 12 yard TD, and Bryce Krimmel added the PAT as the Mules took a 13-6 lead into halftime. Tyberski scored again in the 3rd quarter on a quick hitter behind some excellent blocking by Jacob Curtis, Trevor Carr, and Parker Eason.
Beadle added his own long TD run late in the game behind the blocking of Carr, Sawyer Beard and Gabe Caris. Krimmel again added the PAT. There were several big plays made on the defensive side of the ball. Logan Santiago had a fumble recovery, David Jeffers had an interception and Zack Putnam had several big hits. Jacob Herbster tackled the possible go ahead two point conversion short of the goal line to preserve the tie.
