Mules Win: 38 - 6
Last night in Allen Park, Michigan the 9th grade Mules football team concluded it's season in stunning fashion by destroying a strong Jaguar team 38-6. From the opening kickoff the defense proved it came to play by stopping Allen Park on drive after drive. An interception by Thomas Jessmon and a fumble recovery by Jacob Kish highlighted an all around great team performance. Jack Keller jumped over to the defensive side this week replacing the injured Jake Martin and had his best game of the year making the Allen Park inside running game nonexistent. Kaleb Jennings, once again, came up from his safety position and made numerous stops yielding no gain for the Jaguar offense.
Jacob Ehlert ran the veer option to perfection on the Mules first offensive play taking it 70 yards for a touchdown and the Mules were on their way to a lead they would never give up. Brandon Thomas made a tremendous touchdown catch on a 65 yard fade thrown by Ehlert. Mitchel Dunson, Mason Rimmer, and Brody Szakovits all scored TD's as well. Special mention must be made to Christian Brown. He scored 2 more touchdowns last night. He has been unstoppable the last few games behind a solid offense line of Jacob Zeller, Matt Brown, Austin Heinrichs, Alex Newcombe, Evan Handy, and Corbin Fornwald.
The young Mules finished the season by winning 4 of their last 5 games to finish the season at 5-4. For 3 of those wins the 9th grade team had a presence on their sideline that has made a lasting impact on their young lives. Thanks to the Jennings family and their relationship with Mr. Kevin Bentley these 40 young men were given an insight into what it takes to succeed in life. As Coach Bentley said, "set a standard for yourself and reach for it everyday" Please take a moment to read this incredible man's story.

Mules Win: 44 - 35
In their final home game of the 2016 season the Bedford Freshmen football team played it's best game of the season. Impossible to stop, the offense mounted drive after drive ending in touchdowns, and the defense made timely big play interceptions to defeat a very good Wyandotte Roosevelt team 44-35.
Christian Brown scored 4 TD's on his way to another 100 + yard game. Jake Ehlert threw one touchdown and ran for another, Mitch Dunson caught his TD pass, Darren Common intercepted 2 Wyandotte passes, and Logan Frantz recovered an important onside kick.
Above all, the offensive and defensive lines for Bedford stood out. Wyandotte left with only their second loss of the season while the young Mules evened their record at 4-4. Bedford's final game is up at Allen Park, the only other team to defeat Wyandotte.

Mules Lose: 6 - 18
It was a tale of 2 halves last Thursday as Bedford took the lead into halftime 6-0. On a very very rain-soaked field the lead didn't hold up for long as Monroe returned the opening second half kickoff for a touchdown and things went slipping and sliding away from there losing by a final score of 18-6.
There were few bright spots for the young Mules but their effort wasn't lacking. The entire defense rose up and probably played their best game of the season.
