JH ladies win, for the first time, Mega Jamboree on Saturday

Mules Win: 5 - 0
The girls cross country team won at the Mega Jamboree on Saturday.  This race features some off the best runners in the state of Michigan.  Their 17 point win was decisive, earning them the perfect ending to an already outstanding season.  Our varsity team was Bekah Asselin, Ally Betkey, Sydney Dec, Ava Rickner, Emma Bushroe, Katelyn Dec, Brooklyn Manard, Sam Sexton, Mya Orner, and Zita Lucarelli.  Bekah, Ally, Sydney, and Ava finished in the top twenty out of 143 runners. This is the first time the girls cross country team has won the Mega Jamboree. Also competing in the open race were Ilana Ravindra, Izzy Loubser, Adrianna Kester, Mia Garcia, Sarah Driehorst, and Sidney Davis.  Even though they were running without a full 7 person team and competing against wind and rain, they still placed fourth out of 11 and had five personal bests. Congratulations runners. You did an amazing job.

The (jh) boys cross country team won the Dave Bork Classic on Saturday.  The boys dominated the competition, outscoring the closest team in the 9 school race by over 60 points. They had a lot of season best times as well.  Aiden Ortiz, Gabe Bock, Braiden Welch, Sawyer Ulery, Logan Hafner, Aiden Depue, Braxon Lake, Jonas Enriquez, Matthew Hawkins, Ethan Thomas, and Gabe Tegtmeyer all ran their best times.  Jackson Weber and Hussein Jomaa ran season best as well.  It was a great season for the guys.  Way to finish with a good win!  Team banquet will be Tuesday after school. The girls cross country team ended their season at the Dave Bork Invitational on Saturday.  The team finished on a high note, winning easily and earning another 21 personal best times. Our top finishes were Bekah Asselin, who had a jaw-dropping time of 12:23, Ally Betkey, who had a breathtaking time of 12:59, Ava Rickner, Sydney Dec, Emma Bushroe, Katelyn Dec, and Brooklyn Manard.  Bekah finished third in the SEC overall. Ally finished fifth, Ava finished seventh, and Sydney finished eighth, giving us four of the top ten runners in the conference. There were strong, personal best smashing performances from Sarah Baughman, Skyler Brown, Alivia Brown, Adrianna Kester, Ilana Ravindra, Lizzy Shepard, Savannah Fritz, Mia Garcia, and Gretchen Hafer. There were so many impressive finishes from the top to the bottom of the team.  Each runner should be very proud of what she’s accomplished. Congratulations on an outstanding season.

JH ladies win SEC and go undefeated! The girls cross country team faced off against the entire SEC, including a Saline team that desperately wanted a win, and came out on top, going undefeated in the conference for the season.  As a whole, our team had an incredible twenty-one personal best times. Scoring for our team were Bekah Asselin, who had back-to-back sub thirteen minute races, Ava Rickner, Sydney Dec, Ally Betkey, Emma Bushroe, who earned her fifth PR for the season, Katelyn Dec, and Brooklyn Manard, who is the only 6th grader to score for Bedford this season.  There were also impressive finishes by Sidney Davis, Aubrey Vanderhoof, Carly Zimmerman, and Anika Hill. Congratulations cross country team on a perfect record in the SEC! You earned your success through your hard work and dedication this season.   Boys take 4th in SEC at Saline The boys (jh) cross country team took 4th out of 10 teams at the 3rd and final SEC meet on Wednesday in Saline.  They were led by Leo Wagenhauser who  had an outstanding performance by running a time of 11:27 for the 2 mile race to place 3rd overall in the league.  6th grader Jordan Bunce ran his best time and broke the Bedford 6th grade cross country record.  Aiden Ortiz, another 6th grader, finished right behind Jordan and barely missed breaking the old 6th grade record himself.  Other 6th graders who ran their season best times were Logan Hafner, Aiden Ortiz, Jacob Yeager, Noah Colon, Kaleb Dekoeyer, Nathan Koviak, Caleb Manore and newcomer Nathan Kwiatkowski.  7th graders who ran season best times were Ethan Thomas (once again), Grant Steffen and the amazing John Ball.  And finally 8th grader Anthony Kruszka continued to improve and ran his all time best as well.  The team has one more meet on Saturday at the Dave Bork Invitational in Monroe.  Way to finish the season strong guys!
JH Cross country teams take both crowns in the Monroe Milers Invitational

Mules Win: 10 - 0
The (jh) boys cross country team won the Monroe Milers Invitational on Saturday.  They beat all 10 teams at the meet by working together and racing well.  They were led by Josh Gagne once again who finished as the top runner for Bedford.  6th graders Aiden Ortiz, Aiden Depue, Jonas Enriquez, Noah Colon, and Landon Danielson all ran personal best times.  Others running well were Avery Vanderhoof, Ethan Thomas, John Ball and Grant Steffen.  Great win guys!  The boys run next on Wednesday at Saline for the 3rd and final SEC league meet.  Hopefully they can finish the season well with wins over their league rivals.   The girls cross country team won their fifth race this season at the Monroe Milers Invitational.  On a looping course with a punishing hill that had to be climbed twice, the team stayed focused to earn their win.  Scoring for the team were Bekah Asselin, Ava Ricker, Sydney Dec, Ally Betkey, Katelyn Dec, Emma Bushroe, and Brooklyn Manard, Deanna McCloud continued her impressive streak of PR’s.  Izzy Loubser came just three seconds short of her personal record on a tough course after PRing in every race this season. Sarah Driehorst and Olivia Szczepanik also had a strong showing.  Congratulations to all of our runners.  
JH Girls take first and boys take 3rd in Marauder Invitational

The JH girls cross country team won on Saturday at the Marauders Invitational.  With fifteen other teams and over 200 runners, Bedford powered through to place first. Scoring for our team were Bekah Asselin, Ava Rickner, Sydney Dec, Ally Betkey, Emma Bushroe, Katelyn Dec, and Brooklyn Manard.  Our team had a whopping 19 personal records with impressive performances from Adelle Robinson, Izzy Loubser, Ilana Ravindra, Skyler Brown, Lucy Conlan, Alivia Brown, and Deanna McCloud.  Congratulations to all of our runners.   The JH boys cross country team took 3rd out of 17 teams at the Marauder Invite on Saturday.  It was a great team effort with 16 guys running personal best times.  . Simon Vandervlucht, Kyle Roessle and Gabe Bock led the way for the team with season best times.  They were followed closely by Aiden Ortiz and Braiden Welch.  Other runners having great races were Aiden Depue, Jake Lake, Kaleb Dekoyer, Jonas Enriquez, Nathan Koviak, Matthew Hawkins, Noah Colon, Landen Danielson, Ethan Thomas, Caleb Monore and Grant Steffen.  Amazing race guys. The team has 3 meets left this season and race again on Saturday at the Monroe Miler Invite.

The cross country girls team remains undefeated in the conference after winning at the SEC Jamboree at Dexter.  Scoring for our team were Bekah Asselin, who has placed first or second for Bedford at every race this season, Ava Rickner, Sydney Dec, Katelyn Dec, Emma Bushroe, Zalyn Stelmaszak, and Sam Sexton. On a slow and difficult course, three runners still managed to get personal records for the season: Gretchen Hafer, Izzy Loubser, and Savannah Fritz.  Congratulations, team, on persevering through a tough race. Go Broncos.   The boys also took 4th out of 10 teams at the SEC cross country jamboree on Tuesday up in Dexter.  Jordan Bunce, Aiden Ortiz and Kyle Roessle ran great races to help the team, along with Ethan Thomas who ran the best time of his life.  Congrats on another great race.   The team runs at the Marauder Invitational on Saturday at Lake Erie Metropark.  Good luck guys!

Cardinal Stritch Invitational 9/22 Girls Results: Fighting illness, injury, and cold weather, the girls cross country team placed second at the Cardinal Stritch Invitational.   Scoring for our team were Bekah Asselin, Sydney Dec, Ally Betkey, Emma Bushroe, Katelyn Dec, Mya Orner, and Zita Lucarelli. Our team had a massive eleven PRs with impressive times from Harmony Molina, Izzy Loubser, and Hannah Smith.   The girls will look to remain undefeated in the SEC at their second conference Jamboree this Tuesday. Congratulations to all of our runners. Go Broncos. Boys Results: The junior high boys cross country team took 4th out of 15 teams at the Cardinal Stritch Invitational last Saturday.  They were led by Leo Wagenhauser, Jonny Hayes and Josh Gagne.  Others running well were Kyle Roessle, Gabe Bock, Grant Steffin, and Joe Weiss. The boys also took 4th out of 10 teams at the SEC cross country jamboree on Tuesday up in Dexter.  Jordan Bunce, Aiden Ortiz and Kyle Roessle ran great races to help the team, along with Ethan Thomas who ran the best time of his life.  Congrats on another great race.   The team runs at the Marauder Invitational on Saturday at Lake Erie Metropark.  Good luck guys!

Girls Results from the Chet Sullwood Invitational - Sept 15 The girls cross country team won decisively at the Chet Sullwold Invitational on Saturday.  Our top finishers placed 4th through 10th overall. Scoring for the team were Ava Rickner, Bekah Asselin, Sydney Dec, Katelyn Dec, Emma Bushroe, Sam Sexton, and Zalyn Stelmaszak.  This race featured twenty personal records, including significant improvements from Skyler Brown, Lizzy Shepard, Brooklyn Manard, Alivia Brown, and Anika Hill. Congratulations to all of our runners.  Go Broncos.  Boys Results from Daves XC Invitational - Sept 15  The junior high boys took 2nd place at the Dave's XC Invite on Saturday.  The boys continue to improve, with almost everyone on the team running a personal best over the 3200 meter course.  Leading the way was Josh Gagne who placed 5th overall with a great race and a solid time of 12:07.  Behind Josh were Jonny Hayes, Simon VanderVlucht, Jordan Bunce and Kyle Roessle who rounded out the top 5 for the team.  All of the following ran personal best times as well to help the team, Gabe Bock, Sawyer Ulery, Braiden Welch, Aiden Ortiz, Jake Yeager, Logan Hafner, Anthony Kruska, Braxon Lake, Noah Colon, Jonas Enriquez, Nathan Koviak, John Ball, Caleb Manore and Grant Steffin.  Amazing job guys.  For their next race, they will run at Maumee Bay State park next Saturday.  Wish them luck.  Girls Results:

SEC Jamboree # 1 at Tecumseh Girls Results: The girls cross country team dominated their first SEC competition yesterday, winning by 23 points.  Ally Betkey, Ava Rickner, Bekah Asselin, and Sydney Dec finished in 3rd through 6th place with Emma Bushroe, Katelyn Dec, and Sam Sexton also scoring for the team.  Mya Orner fought through a wall of Saline runners to be a top finisher in the open race. Congratulations to all of our runners. Go Broncos! Boys Results: The junior high boys took 2nd out of 10 teams at the 1st SEC cross country jamboree yesterday.  It was a great team effort, with almost everyone on the team running a best time on the unusually fast course.  Leo Wagenhauser was the top Bedford runner placing 4th overall in a time of 11:24.  Simon VanderVlucht was the top 7th grader and Jordan Bunce was the top 6th grader for Bedford.  Others having great races were 6th graders Sawyer Ulery, Logan Hafner and Braxon Lake, and 7th graders Gabe Bock and Ethan Thomas.

The girls cross country team placed 4th out of 38 schools at the Tiffin Carnival on Saturday.  This invitational hosts nearly 10,000 runners and has some of the best competition in the state of Ohio.  Scoring for our team were Ava Rickner, Bekah Asselin, Ally Betkey, Sydney Dec, Katelyn Dec, Sam Sexton, and Zalyn Stelmaszak. Sidney Davis, Lucy Conlan, Mia Garcia, and Emma Bushroe finished with significant improvements on their personal records.  Overall, there were 13 PR’s, putting our team in a great position as they head into their first SEC conference race on Wednesday. Congratulations to all of our runners. Go Broncos. Great job ladies.   The Bedford Junior High Boys cross country team took 14th out of 38 teams at the Tiffin Cross Country Carnival on Saturday. They were led by Leo Wagenhauser who took 15th out of over 400 runners.  Eighth graders Josh Gagne, Jonny Cooper, and Anthony Kruszka all ran personal best times to help the team, and 7th grader Joe Weiss had a great race to improve his best as well.  Great job guys.  The boys will race on Wednesday at Tecumseh in the 1st SEC League meet of the season.  Wish them luck!
