Bedford Women's swim team traveled to Milan High School to compete in the SMISL relay meet. The ladies competed against Tecumseh, Monroe, Milan and Adrian and came away with a win for the weekend.

The Mules started the weekend On Friday with strong diving from Senior Jennifer Ortiz and Juniors Rachel Staley and Laiya Scheffer.

Saturday, the Lady Mules started the morning with an early season state cut and win from the 200 Medley Relay team of Lauren Sullivan (junior) Allie Steffin (sophomore) Maureen Lingle (sophomore) and Lauren Metter (senior). The girls posted a time of 1:54.73, which is almost three seconds under the state cut time. Sullivan also came away with a state cut in the 50 freestyle later in the meet. Other wins for the weekend include the 300 yard backstroke relay of Alyse Geiger (senior), Sullivan, Kayla Binder (sophomore), and Amy Cook (junior) and the 300 yard breaststroke relay of Sarah Mulder (senior), Hannah Asselin (senior), Steffin and Lingle.

The Lady Mules won the meet with a score of 436 points, which was 120 points ahead of second-place Adrian. The team will continue their momentum against Ypsilanti this Thursday, September 17, at Home.
